- Put a coated pan on the plate, heat on small/medium heat.
- Mix all the ingredients, except the maple sirup, well in a bowl with a spoon/spatula and add as little water as it forms a thick/slightly liquid batter.
- Pour batter into the pan, spread evenly and put lid on top.
- After some minutes, check whether the batter has hardened and can be turned over without tearing.
- When turned, spread 1 teaspoon of maple sirup on the top surface. Make sure the sirup does not run down into the pan.
- When ready, turn over the bread again. Now spread another teaspoon of sirup on top of the surface. Make sure the now sugary side below does only get caramelized and crunchy. Do not burn and blacken it.
- Flip again caramelize the other side too.
- Serve whole, or cut into pieces. The bread should be soft within, with a crunchy outside.
